The First United Methodist Church of Ypsilanti is pleased to announce that Pastor Cori Clevenger has been nominated for the Wespath Benefits and Investments Young Leaders Advisory Board. She is one of two representatives selected from the North Central Jurisdiction, which includes the Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin conferences.
The purpose of the Young Leaders Advisory Board, also known as Y-LAB, is to support Wespath in its efforts to engage with and better serve young adults dedicated to The United Methodist Church. The board consists of 10 to 15 individuals ages 35 or younger selected from across the national United Methodist Connection.
Five of these are selected as at-large representatives, and each of the five U.S. United Methodist jurisdictions selects two representatives from a pool of candidates submitted by the jurisdiction’s annual conferences.
“We are proud of Pastor Cori for being nominated and we are confident that she will provide valuable insight to this board,” said Marty Heator, FUMC Ypsilanti’s Staff-Parish Relations chair.
Pastor Cori was appointed to a three-year term. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve The United Methodist Church through the Wespath Young Leaders Advisory Board,” she said. “I look forward to connecting with other individuals across our denomination who are dedicated to improving our services to young church leaders.”
